Swan Hill Rural City Council is delighted that Goulburn-Murray Water has officially lifted the blue-green algae warning for Lake Boga, just in time for the busy summer season.

Council’s Mayor, Cr Stuart King said the news was fantastic for both locals and visitors.

"Lake Boga is one of our region’s true gems, and it’s wonderful to see it open and ready for everyone to enjoy.

"With the summer holidays fast approaching, families, friends, and visitors will once again be able to experience all the activities that make our lake so special - from boating and water skiing to kayaking, fishing, or simply enjoying a relaxing picnic by the shore,” Cr King said."

Cr King added that this was also an important boost for the local economy.

"Lake Boga attracts visitors from across the region, and having the lake fully open means more people can enjoy our beautiful surroundings, support our local businesses and create a vibrant community atmosphere this summer,” he added.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to continue practicing safe water use.
